President Droupadi Murmu today conferred the National Awards to Teachers 2025 at a special ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

In her address, the President emphasized that building the character of students is the foremost responsibility of teachers. She urged educators to pay special attention to girls and children from less privileged backgrounds, ensuring that every student receives equal opportunities to grow and excel.
Among the awardees was Bidisha Majumdar, a teacher from Hariananda English Medium High School in Gomati district, Tripura, who received the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2025.
The recognition brought immense pride to the state. Sharing his wishes on Facebook, Tripura’s Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Sushanta Chowdhury, congratulated Majumdar:
“Many greetings and congratulations to you for receiving this unique honor on this auspicious day of Teachers’ Day.”
The National Awards to Teachers are presented every year to celebrate outstanding educators who have contributed significantly to innovation in teaching, dedication to student welfare, and the overall strengthening of the education system in India.
