Actor Vikrant Massey is set to return with the upcoming Netflix series Musafir Cafe, a heartfelt story about love, timing, and second chances. The project was officially unveiled during Netflix India’s 2026 slate announcement event, marking a significant milestone in Massey’s career as it also serves as his debut as a producer.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Mussoorie, Musafir Cafe explores relationships that evolve over time, shaped by ambition, distance, and emotional growth.

Vikrant Massey on Acting and Producing Musafir Cafe
Speaking about the project, Massey shared his instant connection with the script.
“When this script came to me, I read it in one go, and I felt I must act in it,” he said.
He also credited producer Vijay Subramaniam, calling him a mentor who encouraged him to take on a larger creative role. Massey serves as co-producer through his banner Homemade Movies, alongside Anuj Gosalia and Vijay Subramaniam under the Terribly Tiny Tales label.
A Love Story Told Across Two Timelines
Musafir Cafe unfolds across two distinct timelines. The narrative follows Chander, whose life intersects with Sudha and later Preeti, presenting two very different expressions of love.
According to the official synopsis, “Chander and Sudha share a sudden connection that strikes like a spark, impossible to ignore. With Preeti, however, Chander builds something steadier, a bond grounded in quiet understanding and the comfort of simply being together.”
The central question driving the story is deeply emotional:
Which love will endure time, ambition, and the long journey of life?
Creative Team and Literary Roots
The series is directed by Ruchir Arun and created and written by Sharanya Rajgopal. It is based on characters from the novel Musafir Cafe by acclaimed author Divya Prakash Dubey, lending the project strong literary depth.
Executive producers on the series include Sharanya Rajgopal, Vineet Batra, and Pracchi Batnagar. A press note described the show as a “timeless love story that lingers and deepens with its warm, real characters.”

The makers describe Musafir Cafe as more than just a romance.
“We are all made of love stories. Some we chase, some that find us, some that make us travel, and some that make us brave. The greatest journeys bring us closer to our truest desires,” the team shared.
The story revolves around three ‘musafirs’—Chander, Sudha, and Preeti—whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways, mirroring the emotional journeys many viewers will find deeply relatable.
Cast and What’s Next for Vikrant Massey
The cast includes Vedika Pinto of “Nishaanchi” fame alongside Mahima Makwana, Adil Hussain, Rajeev Siddhartha, Anubha Fatehpuria, Loveleen Mishra and Sadia Siddiqui.
Massey was last seen in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan (2025), alongside Shanaya Kapoor. He will next appear in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, described as “a love story with a lot of action” and Shakespearean undertones.
