This initiative, under the Digital India mission, aims to streamline the issuance and access of birth certificates through a unified national portal, removing the dependency on physical copies and local municipal offices.

According to officials, the digital certificate will be legally valid for all official purposes โ€” including school admissions, passport issuance, Aadhaar registration, and government services.
