Bengaluru, June 5:
A tragic stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has claimed 11 lives and left several others injured. The incident occurred during a large public gathering reportedly linked to a ticket sale or promotional event, leading to a sudden surge of the crowd.

This type of surge of crowd was not expected. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to provide aid and transport victims to nearby hospitals. Local police have cordoned off the area, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the stampede.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise, headquartered in the city, has issued an emotional statement expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives.

“We are heartbroken by the tragedy outside Chinnaswamy Stadium today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. We stand with Bengaluru in this difficult time,” RCB posted on social media.

The government has announced compensation for the families of the deceased and free medical care for the injured.
