The minister made the remarks while addressing a public meeting in Sanadar, Gujarat, after inaugurating a new Bio-CNG and Fertiliser Plant of Banas Dairy and laying the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art 150 TPD Milk Powder and Baby Food Plant.

Circular Economy Model to Be Replicated Nationwide

Mr. Shah highlighted the success of Banas Dairy’s circular economy model, which efficiently uses livestock waste to produce Bio-CNG and organic fertilizers, reducing cost pressures and generating additional revenue for farmers.

He emphasized that the central government is working to replicate this model across all dairy cooperatives in India, strengthening the economic foundation of rural livestock owners.

The minister expressed confidence that the initiative would play a crucial role in achieving White Revolution 2.0, adding that it would open up new opportunities for innovation and sustainable agricultural growth.

White Revolution 2.0 Roadmap

Amit Shah outlined four key priority sectors under the government’s strategy for dairy transformation:

National Gokul Mission

Improved Animal Husbandry Infrastructure

National Animal Disease Control Programme

Revamped Dairy Development Initiatives

He stressed that these efforts would improve milk productivity, animal health, and farmer profitability, reinforcing India’s leadership in the global dairy industry.

Parliamentarians Delegation Reviews Dairy Excellence

Mr. Shah noted that a delegation of parliamentarians is currently visiting Banas Dairy to study the robust growth of Asia’s largest dairy cooperative and evaluate best practices for nationwide expansion.

Later today, the Union Minister will chair the 3rd meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Cooperation at Banas Dairy. He is also scheduled to visit the new Bio-CNG and Fertiliser Plant in Agthala, interact with women milk producers, and review livestock and agricultural value-addition facilities including oil, flour, and honey plants in Palanpur, Banaskantha.

Boosting Rural Economy & Sustainability

The new initiatives are expected to:

Reduce dependency on chemical fertilizer

Improve waste-to-wealth efficiency

Create rural employment opportunities

Support clean energy transition goals

The circular dairy economy is being projected as a key driver of India’s rural economic resilience.
