The Bangla Sanskriti Boloy, a prominent socio-cultural organization in Tripura, is set to celebrate its 90th consecutive Saptahik Sanskriti Haat (Weekly Cultural Haat) on Sunday, August 24, in Agartala.

This landmark event underscores the organization’s steadfast commitment to preserving and promoting Bengali culture while strengthening community participation in the state’s cultural life.

🔹 A Century in Sight

The organization has already announced that the 100th consecutive Weekly Cultural Haat will be celebrated on November 2, 2025. Members believe this milestone will symbolize resilience and the enduring spirit of cultural revival in Agartala.

🔹 Beyond the Weekly Haat

Bangla Sanskriti Boloy has consistently organized diverse cultural initiatives across Agartala. Among its signature events is the annual Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. These programs, blending literature, music, and performance, have greatly enriched Agartala’s cultural landscape.

🔹 Expanding Membership & Structure

The organization recently launched a membership campaign, attracting nearly 500 writers, artists, and social activists. To strengthen outreach, Agartala has been divided into nine administrative zones, each managed by a Samsad Sahayak Committee. The branches include:

  • City South
  • Ramnagar–Jaynagar
  • Krishnanagar–Melarmath
  • Banamalipur–Shibnagar
  • Dhaleshwar–Bankumari
  • GB
  • Sadar East
  • Natunnagar

Formed through general meetings, these committees are tasked with promoting cultural renaissance, fostering solidarity, and uplifting local ethnic groups.

Sebak Bhattacharjee, a leading member of Bangla Sanskriti Boloy, emphasized the driving philosophy:

“The progress of Bangla Sanskriti Boloy is shaped entirely by a sense of social duty. The creation of Samsad Sahayak Committees has generated immense enthusiasm among members, supporters, and cultural advocates alike.”
