Raghav Chadha Hits Back at AAP Leaders:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Saturday strongly refuted what he described as “false and coordinated allegations” levelled against him by fellow party leaders, claiming that the accusations were part of a deliberate attempt to silence his voice in Parliament.

In a video statement shared on social media platform X, Chadha alleged that a “scripted campaign” had been launched against him, pointing out similarities in the language and nature of the accusations.

‘Scripted Campaign’ Alleged

Chadha said the allegations appeared to be part of a coordinated effort rather than isolated criticism.

“From yesterday, a scripted campaign is working against me. The same language and the same accusations are being used. This is not a coincidence, but a coordinated attack,” he stated.

He added that although he initially chose not to respond, he felt compelled to speak out as repeated claims could mislead the public.

Responds to Key Allegations

Addressing the accusations individually, Chadha dismissed claims that he remained seated during Opposition walkouts as “completely false,” urging critics to verify CCTV footage from Parliament.

On allegations that he refused to sign an impeachment motion against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Chadha clarified that he was never approached by any party leader regarding such a move.

“I was never asked — formally or informally — to sign such a motion,” he said, noting that several other AAP MPs had also not signed the notice.

He questioned why he was being singled out despite multiple MPs not participating, adding that the Opposition required only 50 signatures to proceed with the motion.

‘Not Here for Disruption’

Responding to claims that he was acting out of fear, Chadha firmly rejected the charge, stating that his role in Parliament was to raise public issues, not create disruptions.

“I am not in Parliament to create ruckus, break mics, or use abusive language. I am there to raise the issues of the people,” he said.

Highlighting his parliamentary contributions, Chadha said he had raised issues related to GST, income tax, Punjab’s water concerns, and Delhi’s air pollution, among others. He also pointed to discussions on education, healthcare, Indian Railways, and menstrual health.

‘Truth Will Prevail’

Concluding his statement, Chadha expressed confidence that the allegations against him would eventually be disproven.

“All these lies will be exposed, and every question will be answered,” he said, adding in Hindi, “Kyunki main ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon” (I am wounded, that’s why I am lethal).

The development signals internal tensions within the AAP, even as Chadha maintains that his focus remains on raising public issues in Parliament.
