In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the seized over 1 kg of high-quality cocaine worth approximately Rs 10 crore and arrested a key accused under Operation Kavach 13.0. The operation marks a significant blow to an alleged international narcotics network operating in the national capital.

Major Seizure Under Operation Kavach 13.0

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Special Staff of the South District launched a targeted operation to track a suspected drug trafficker. The accused, identified as John Chibuike (35), a Nigerian national residing in Mehrauli, was allegedly involved in supplying cocaine across South and South-East Delhi.

During the raid conducted at his residence in Islam Colony, police recovered 1.031 kg of fine-quality cocaine, estimated to be worth ₹10 crore in the international market.

Intelligence-Led Operation

The operation was carried out by a dedicated team led by Inspector Anuj Kumar under the supervision of ACP Abhinendra Jain. Officials used a combination of manual and technical surveillance to monitor the suspect’s activities before executing the raid.

The coordinated efforts of the police team ensured the successful apprehension of the accused and the seizure of the contraband.

Accused Linked to Drug Network

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had been involved in narcotics trafficking for a considerable period. He was also previously implicated in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in 2022.

Police sources indicated that the accused had expanded his network significantly in recent months, supplying drugs across multiple areas in Delhi.

Probe to Uncover Larger Syndicate

Following the arrest, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Mehrauli Police Station. Authorities are now working to dismantle the larger drug syndicate and trace both interstate and international connections linked to the operation.

Officials stated that further investigation will focus on identifying associates, supply chains, and financial links connected to the accused.
