PM Modi Speaks to Qatar Amir:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, expressing India’s strong solidarity with the Gulf nation and condemning any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity amid escalating regional tensions.

The conversation comes against the backdrop of heightened conflict in Iran and the wider Gulf region, which has triggered diplomatic engagement across multiple countries.

India Condemns Violation of Sovereignty

Following the phone call, PM Modi shared details on X, stating:

“We stand firmly in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We emphasised the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy.”

The Prime Minister also appreciated the Amir’s continued support and care for the Indian community residing in Qatar during the ongoing crisis.

India in Constant Touch with Gulf Leaders

Over the past two days, PM Modi has spoken with leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait as India maintains close coordination with regional governments and global partners.
India’s proactive diplomatic outreach highlights its strategic interests in the Gulf region, home to millions of Indian expatriates and a crucial energy partner.

Embassy Engages Indian Community in Qatar

India’s Ambassador to Qatar, Vipul, held a virtual interaction with representatives of Indian community associations to address concerns and discuss the prevailing security situation.
The Embassy of India, Doha stated on X that it continues to work closely with community members and Qatari authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all Indian nationals in the country.

Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting the US embassies in Riyadh and Kuwait, describing them as a “blatant violation” of international conventions and diplomatic norms.
The Ministry affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, stressing that attacks on diplomatic missions violate established international agreements granting immunity and protection to embassy premises and staff.

On Monday, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, the UAE, and the United States jointly condemned what they described as Iran’s “indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks” across sovereign territories in the region.
The joint statement said the strikes endangered civilians, damaged infrastructure, and posed a serious threat to regional stability.

Call for Dialogue and Regional Stability

Both PM Modi and the Qatar Amir emphasised the urgent need for de-escalation through diplomatic channels. India reiterated its consistent position that peace, stability, and respect for sovereignty must remain paramount in resolving regional conflicts.

As tensions continue, India’s diplomatic engagement signals its commitment to safeguarding its diaspora and maintaining strong ties with Gulf nations.
