A Dark, Violent and Stylish Introduction
Set against the haunting silence of a cemetery, the teaser opens with a burial in progress before shifting to an intimate moment inside a car, where Raya sits with a woman—completely unbothered by a bomb planted behind them. Moments later, the calm is shattered by a massive explosion and gunfire, plunging the scene into chaos.
As smoke fills the air and bodies lie strewn across the ground, Raya emerges with a Tommy gun in hand and a smoking cigar, exuding menace and control. The visuals establish the character as dangerous, calculated and unflinching in the face of violence.
Yash kept the caption minimal, writing:
“RAYA | Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups | In cinemas worldwide on 19-03-2026.”
An Ambitious Multilingual Crime Saga
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages—underscoring its pan-India and global ambitions.
The film is reportedly set in 1980s Goa and revolves around a powerful drug cartel that manipulates lives behind the façade of the state’s scenic beaches and vibrant culture. Crime, deception and moral decay form the backbone of the narrative.
