The Government of India is gearing up for the second phase of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, aimed at strengthening production strategies for the upcoming Rabi 2025-26 season. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lead the initiative, with a special focus on delivering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Lab to Land” mantra by connecting agricultural science directly with farmers.

National Conference on Rabi Crops Begins at Pusa Campus
As part of the preparations, the National Agricultural Conference — Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025 will take place on September 15-16, 2025, at the Pusa Campus in New Delhi. The two-day event will bring together agricultural scientists, policy makers, state agriculture ministers, and representatives from central and state governments.
The Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that the conference will focus on production targets, sowing strategies, and technology dissemination for the Rabi season. The gathering will serve as a platform to align national and state-level efforts towards sustainable crop production.
Focus on Farmers’ Income & Sustainable Agriculture
On the first day, officials from the Centre and states will discuss critical issues related to Rabi crops, including wheat, barley, pulses, and oilseeds. The second day will see detailed deliberations involving all State Agriculture Ministers, the Union Agriculture Minister, and Ministers of State (MoS).
For the first time, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) scientists have been invited to share regional experiences, challenges, and success stories. Their participation is expected to help tailor strategies to local needs and ensure effective technology transfer to farmers.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that this initiative will increase farmers’ income, promote sustainable agriculture systems, and strengthen national food security.

Parallel Technical Sessions
The conference will also feature parallel technical sessions on a wide range of topics, including:
1.Use of climate-resilient seeds
2.Soil health and water management

Experts and scientists will make presentations, while open discussions will allow practical solutions to emerge. These sessions are expected to guide not only policy but also on-ground practices in villages.

The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is more than just a seasonal campaign—it is part of India’s long-term vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”.
