Tripura’s power sector is set for a green and modern upgrade as the state government announced the installation of 45 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the state. The move aims to boost clean mobility infrastructure and support India’s transition towards electric transportation.

Speaking after inaugurating the ₹9.76 crore 33 kV Durga Chowmuhani Sub-station under the NER Power System Improvement Project, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the project will directly benefit 10,945 consumers and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the upcoming Durga Puja.
Highlighting the need for renewable energy, Nath said,
“Gas is depleting and will one day run out. Solar and wind energy will always be there — that’s why we’re focusing on renewable sources for more power and revenue.”
