The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved four new components under the existing Central Sector Scheme of Special Development Packages (SDPs) for Assam and Tripura, with a total outlay of ₹4,250 crore.
For Tripura, the Cabinet has cleared ₹250 crore for the development of tribal communities, as per the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed between the Government of India, Government of Tripura, and the National Liberation Front of Tripra (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF).

Targeted projects aim to boost infrastructure, employment, and socio-economic growth under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Socio-Economic Upliftment: Targeting vulnerable and marginalized groups left out of previous government schemes.
Employment Boost: Creation of jobs through health services, education, skilling, and livelihood activities, especially for youth and women.
Tourism Growth: Increased tourist inflow from other parts of India, generating more employment and livelihood opportunities in the North Eastern Region.
This initiative aims to strengthen peace, stability, and inclusive growth in Tripura, while addressing long-standing developmental gaps in tribal areas.
