In a shocking development during Pakistan Shaheens’ tour of the United Kingdom, Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali was arrested on August 3 by the Greater Manchester Police at the Beckenham ground, where his team was playing a match against MCSAC.
According to a report by Telecom Asia Sports, the arrest stems from a rape complaint filed by a girl of Pakistani origin. The incident has triggered major controversy and raised serious concerns about player conduct on international tours.
Following the arrest, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a provisional suspension of Haider Ali from all forms of cricket until further notice.
“It’s apparently a rape case against a girl of Pakistani origin,” a source close to the matter told the publication. “The arrest happened at Beckenham during the ongoing match.”

Haider Ali, once regarded as a rising star in Pakistan’s cricketing future, has faced inconsistent performance in recent years but remained active in domestic circuits and ‘A’ team tours.
