In a major breakthrough in the ongoing war against drugs, the Amtali Police Station successfully seized 90,000 Yaba tablets during a strategic search operation conducted on the Amtali Bypass on Wednesday 6th August. One person was arrested, and an auto-rickshaw used for transporting the contraband was also seized.

The operation is part of Tripura Police’s intensified efforts to crack down on drug trafficking networks operating in and around the state.
“We remain committed to building a Drug-Free Tripura. Our relentless fight against drug smugglers will continue with full determination,” said a senior police official.
Yaba tablets—a dangerous mix of methamphetamine and caffeine—are a growing concern in northeastern states due to their cross-border trafficking and harmful impact on youth.
