In a gruesome incident that has sent shockwaves across Telangana, a 27-year-old man allegedly murdered his five-month Pregnant Wife, dismembered her body, and disposed of the parts in the Musi river. The crime took place on Saturday evening at their rented residence in Medipally.

According to police, the accused, a cab driver working with a ride-hailing company, throttled his 21-year-old wife following a heated argument over family disputes. To cover up the crime, he used a hexa blade to cut her body into pieces.
DCP (Malkajgiri Zone) P V Padmaja told reporters that the man made three trips to the Musi river near Prathapsingaram, where he dumped the Pregnant Wife’s body parts wrapped in plastic bags. The head, arms, and legs were thrown into the river, while the torso remained hidden inside their home.
After committing the crime, the accused attempted to mislead his relatives by claiming that his wife had gone missing. He called his sister and informed her about the supposed disappearance. However, when she grew suspicious and alerted other family members, they confronted him. He was then taken to the police station, where he eventually confessed.
Police registered a case under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections for murder and destruction of evidence. The remains recovered from the house have been sent for post-mortem. Authorities have ordered a DNA test to confirm the victim’s identity, though police believe it is indeed his wife.

Special teams of NDRF personnel and GHMC swimmers have launched a search operation in the Musi river to recover the missing parts. However, as of now, nothing has been traced.
Troubled Marriage and History of Disputes
Police investigations revealed that both the accused and the victim hailed from Vikarabad district. They had been neighbours before marrying through a love-cum-arrange marriage in January 2024 at Arya Samaj.
After shifting to Hyderabad, the couple began living in Boduppal. However, frequent disputes soon erupted. In April 2024, the woman lodged a domestic violence complaint with Vikarabad police. Although a case was registered, the matter was later settled through a village panchayat after elders intervened.
The young woman briefly worked at a call centre in Punjagutta but was forced to resign by her husband, who constantly suspected her movements. She became pregnant in March 2025, but the quarrels between them only intensified.
Events Leading to the Murder
On August 22, the victim reportedly expressed her wish to visit her parents in Vikarabad for a medical check-up and stay with them for some time. Her husband objected, leading to a bitter argument. Enraged, the man allegedly decided that very day to kill his Pregnant Wife.
Police said the victim had verbally abused him during the fight, which further triggered the crime.
Accused in Custody
The accused is now in police custody. Investigators are trying to piece together the full sequence of events and recover the missing remains.
The shocking murder has once again highlighted the growing concerns around domestic violence cases and the lack of timely intervention that could have saved the young woman’s life
