Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that India will soon build its own space station, marking a historic step in the nation’s growing space ambitions. Speaking on the occasion of National Space Day, the Prime Minister lauded the success of astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s recent space mission and emphasized the importance of nurturing a dedicated astronaut pool for future missions.
In his address, PM Modi called upon young minds to actively participate in India’s expanding space journey. “Today, India is rapidly advancing in breakthrough technologies like semi-cryogenic engines and electric propulsion. Soon, with the hard work of our scientists, India will also soar with Gaganyaan and in the coming times, India will build its own space station,” he said.
Towards a Self-Reliant Space Future
India has already made significant progress with its space programs under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). From the successful Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing to the progress on Gaganyaan’s human spaceflight mission, the country is laying a strong foundation for independent deep-space exploration.
